Is one of your New Year's resolutions to add a little more style to your kitchen design? Go the DIY route in your remodeling plans. Start by hitting up a flea market or thrift store. Seek out discounted used furniture and bring it home to refurbish and redesign yourself! With a little sandpaper, wood finish and paint, you can turn an old chair, dresser or side table into your own personalized fixture!

Improve your storage
Speaking of great storage like a side table or dresser, another New Year's decision you may want to make is to improve your storage, once and for all.
